Delhi Public School founded as a Public School in New Delhi in 1972, is a private institution run by the Delhi Public School Society.
DPS R.K. Puram is a co-educational day-cum-boarding school, with three different campuses at R.K. Puram, East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar.

Curriculum

- The School has students enrolled from the 6th to the 12th grade. In the 11th and 12th all students prepare for the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (also a national exam). The students are offered the following combinations of subject.

Science: English Core, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Economics/ Computer Science
Commerce: English Core, Maths, Economic, Accountancy, Business Studies
Humanities: English (Core/Elective) and Economics and any 3 from the following: History, Sociology, Political Science, Maths, Geography or Psychology

Delhi Public School R. K. Puram does not rank its students. However, an average ranking on the basis of percentiles is often done to facilitate college admission procedures.
At DPS R.K. Puram, instruction is delivered through a Language Laboratory, a Robotics Lab and a Maths Lab, apart from the standardized science labs. The School has also installed the INTERNET and Web Page to facilitate the learning process.
DPS is an avid participant and organizer of various cultural and sports conventions, such as Jamboree, Exun, Inter DPS Sports Meets, and many others.

EXUN, the computer club at DPS R.K. Puram, stands for Experts Unlimited. The motto being "We not I", which in essence means that the team believes in team spirit.
On the 29th August, 2002 during the "1st Computer Literacy Excellence Awards for Schools", President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, presented an award to Dr. (Mrs.) Shyama Chona, Principal, Delhi Public School (R.K. Puram). The school was adjudged the Best School at the State Level and bagged the 2nd Runners up position nationally.
